The Disciplined Lens: Photography as a Conscious (and Spiritual) Journey
Beginning November 4
Tired of point-and-shoot accidents and smart-phone thoughtlessness, and selfies? Ready to step out of the automated safety net?
Join us for a completely free, hands-on photography seminar designed to challenge how you see the world. This is not a class about memorizing software menus. It is an exploration of the Exposure Triangle, the physics of light, and the deliberate mechanical trade-offs required to capture a singular moment in time. Whether you shoot with a new mirrorless system or a classic body, you will learn to take a true “bird’s-eye view” of your environment and command your settings with complete confidence. This class will meet monthly beginning Wednesday, November 4, from 7-9 pm at church in room E205.
Cost: Free. Requirement: A camera with manual controls, digital or film, interchangeable lens cameras preferred, point and shoot OK as long as it has manual controls, and a willingness to think critically. Photography is a cerebral encounter with the subject(s), regardless of your photographic preferences. If you have questions about the class or would like to register, please contact course instructor, Tim Barnett-Queen.
