Nursery care is provided for worship services and faith formation on Sunday mornings and for special services and events. Our goal is to provide loving, Christian care to our littlest disciples while their parents or guardians are at church. Parents or guardians can be issued a beeper when their child is checked into our nursery.
Paid nursery staff provide care with support from parent volunteers. All adults in the nursery have completed a National Criminal Background check and adhere to Forest Lake’s Child Protection guidelines.
Forest Lake is dedicated to teaching each child they are loved by a God who created them, knows them, and claims them as God’s own.
On Sundays, following our 10 AM worship service, all children from Kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to attend the elementary faith formation class in our education building (first floor). The faith formation class begins with singing together, and then we read a story from the Growing in God’s Love story Bible.
In addition to the Sunday morning faith formation class, we often provide opportunities to elementary students for fellowship and service, including movie nights and service trips in the Columbia area. In the summer, our youngest disciples are invited to attend our intergenerational Vacation Bible School, which offers programming for all age levels. Throughout the year, families are invited to spend time in the Kid’s Garden to learn about the environment and help plant and harvest produce for Harvest Hope Food Bank. And, we offer faith-based sexuality education every two years using the Created by God curriculum.
We encourage our families to invite their friends to all our activities to make known the saving power of Christ, to guide guests and children, and to promote fellowship where no one is a stranger.
