10/4/22 Devotional from Ed

Text: Psalm 36:6
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains; your judgments are like the great deep; you save humans and animals alike, O Lord.
Remi, Moose, Shadow, Zoe, Chloe, Quincy, Jack…
I had a seminary professor who said, “Dogs are God’s perfect creature.” Obviously, if you are a "cat person," you may disagree, but the dogs listed above (and there are many more) are part of YOUR church family! Did you know they’re also part of God’s family?
You know the phrase "dog whisperer" or "baby whisperer?" Thanks be to God for those who can “speak” to animals, but I firmly believe that God can also speak to us through animals. Have you stayed in the hospital and had a therapy dog visit? How many times have you had a rough meeting on Zoom and been comforted by your cat on your lap?
On Sunday, October 9 at 5 PM in the field by the parlor, we will give thanks to God for the animals in our lives and the animals that God has placed on this earth. We will also ask for God’s blessing on each. Join us!
Prayer of gratitude
Holy God, thank you for placing your creatures in this world, and thank you for the many roles that your creatures serve in your creation. Amen.
